1. Ugly Sweater Christmas Party: Friday, Dec. 20
Zócalo will host an ugly sweater Christmas party from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 at 636 S. Sixth St. Come dressed in your ugly sweater and enjoy food and music. There will also be a chance for you to win a $100 Zócalo gift card. More information here.
2. Journey through the Senses: Friday, Dec. 20
Children, up to 5 years old, are invited to engage in sensory workshop activities from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 at 1531 W. Vliet St. Activities will include cookie decorating, a slime station, reading and more. More information here.
3. Cultural Chromosomes Closing Celebration: Friday, Dec. 20
Artist Rozalia Singh will have a closing celebration for her Cultural Chromosomes residency from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 at Arts @ Large Inc., 1100 S. Fifth St. The event will feature three months of portraits that display Singh’s journey of self-discovery through ancestry. More information here.
4. Winter Solstice Crafternoon: Saturday, Dec. 21
Children are invited to make winter-themed crafts as they celebrate the shortest day of the year. Craft-making activities will take place from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21 at the Milwaukee Public Library Good Hope Branch, 7715 W. Good Hope Road. More information here.
5. Kids’ Cooking at The Table: Saturday, Dec. 21
Children can learn holiday cookie baking from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 5305 W. Capitol Drive. Equipment and ingredients will be provided. RSVP by clicking “Interested.” More information here.
