1. ESL Drop-in Tutoring: Monday, Dec. 23

If you need help improving your English skills, ESL tutors will be available from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23 at the Milwaukee Public Library Zablocki Branch, 3501 W. Oklahoma Ave. You can receive help with reading, writing, listening and speaking. More information here.

2. Community Christmas Gift Giveaway: Tuesday, Dec. 24

Evolve Church is partnering with various organizations and community activists to host a community Christmas giveaway for the 11th annual RBG GiftMust MKE from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 6550 N. 76th St. Resources and other services will also be provided. 3 JobsWork MKE Office Hours: Tuesday, Dec. 24

JobsWork MKE will offer employment readiness workshops and assistance addressing employment barriers to residents from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Dec. 24. This will take place at 2470 W. Locust St. Walk-ins are welcome. More information here.

4. Kwanzaa 2024 Opening and Traditional Ceremony: Thursday, Dec. 26 

The Wisconsin Black Historical Society/Museum will host an opening and traditional ceremony for Kwanzaa at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26 at 2620 W. Center St. Attendees will honor the first principle of Kwanzaa called, Umoja (unity). This event is free and open to all. More information here. 

5. Holiday Floral Show: The Domes Holiday Parade: runs through Sunday, Jan. 5

The Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory is hosting a holiday parade that runs through Sunday, Jan. 5 at 524 S. Layton Blvd. It will feature a bed of poinsettias and stationary floats, honoring various holidays, such as Advent, Winter Solstice, Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. Special hours vary. Admission prices range from $6 to $9 for children and adults. More information here.
