1. Junior Closing Celebration: Friday, March 21
DeMar Walker will be closing his winter residency at Arts @ Large, with a celebration from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 21 at 1100 S. 5th St. The celebration will feature a gallery of theatrical performances, dance, a talkback and spoken word to showcase his journey of self-discovery and belonging. 2. Family Culture Night: Friday, March 21
Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center invites individuals to a discussion on Milwaukee rivers and Bear Bundles. Attendees can also engage in indigenous games and other activities. Family Culture Night will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 21 at 930 W. Historic Mitchell St. A meal will be served. More information here.
3. BLK Girl Space: Saturday, March 22
BLK Girl Space invites women ages 18 and up to a free group therapy session from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 at 530 E. Vienna Ave. Whitney Bingham will lead the session about sound baths, healing and more. Registration is required. More information here.
4. Free GED Orientation: Saturday, March 22
Joyce’s Legacy Learning Center invites community members to take their first steps with a GED. Attendees will learn about testing, prep and other resources. Orientation will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 at 825 N. 27th St. You must have a valid ID and be at least 18.5 years-old from Wisconsin to participate. Walk-ins are welcome. 5. Blackout Vendor Market: Saturday, March 22
In honor of Women’s History Month, the Sherman Phoenix Marketplace will be hosting a vendor market featuring local women-owned businesses to shop from. It will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 at 3536 W. Fond du Lac Ave. More information here.
