1. Women’s Personal Safety Workshop: Friday, March 28
To celebrate Women’s History Month, Circles of Strength and SheWolf MKE are partnering to host a personal safety workshop from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 28 at 3610 W. 2. Youth Hangout: Friday, March 28
Youth ages 13 to 19 are welcome to hang out with the African-American Roundtable from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 28 at 161 W. Wisconsin Ave., Suite 1000. 3. Phenomenal Women Marketplace: Saturday, March 29
America’s Black Holocaust Museum and Papyrus & Charms invite you to a pop-up marketplace to celebrate the history of women in business and arts. You can shop local vendors, engage in activities and hear live poetry from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 29 at 401 W. North Ave. More information here.
4. Outdoor Afro Saturday Afternoon Urban Hike: Saturday, March 29
Outdoor Afro-Wisconsin-Iowa is a group that goes on urban hikes to connect Black community members with nature and build friendship. Residents are encouraged to participate in the group’s urban hike from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 29. You will gather at the Mitchell Park Domes Horticulture Conservatory, 524 S. Layton Blvd. Then, you will walk through the Hank Aaron State Trail toward Three Bridges Park. Before participating, you must fill out a waiver. Please wear appropriate shoes, dress in layers and bring water. More information here.
5. Sundaes on Sunday: Sunday, March 30
The Milwaukee Police Department partners with 71st and Lisbon Avenue Sentry and Cedar Crest Ice Cream each month to give away free sundaes to community members and hear feedback from them regarding important issues. The next gathering will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 30 at 7101 W. Lisbon Ave. More information here.
