It’s Friday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

1. Food Distribution for Seniors: Friday, April 18

A monthly food distribution for seniors ages 60 and up will be held by Independence First from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, April 18 at 540 S. First St. Seniors should bring a valid ID, so they can fill out an enrollment form before receiving free food. More information here.

2. Jazzy Rae Jewels Jewelry Party and Mary Kay Pop-Up: Saturday, April 19

JazzyRaƩ Jewels will host a jewelry party and Mary Kay pop-up from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 at 4307 W. Vliet St. You will have the chance to purchase some accessories, try free samples and win free products. Refreshments will be provided. More information here.

3. Blackout Vendor Market Kid-preneur Edition: Saturday, April 19

The Blackout Vendor Market will feature kid entrepreneurs and the community is invited to come celebrate and support these youth businesses. The market is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 at the Sherman Phoenix Marketplace, 3536 W. Fond du Lac Ave.  More information here. 

4. Drop-in ESL Tutoring for Teens and Adults: Saturday, April 19

If you are a teen or adult in need of improving your English skills, ESL tutors will be available from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 19  at the Milwaukee Public Library Mitchell Street Branch, 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. You can receive help with reading, writing, listening and speaking. More information here.

5. Easter Egg Hunt for Kids:Ā Saturday, April 19

The Evangel Assembly of God will hide over 2,000 eggs for children to find. The egg hunt begins at noon on Saturday, April 19 at 9920 W. Good Hope Road. Each age group will have their own hunt and are required to bring a basket. In addition, children will gather to hear a Bible story and win prizes. More information here.
