1. Mic Over Matter: Monday, Oct. 13
Performing artists are welcome to an open mic night from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13 at Flame 13 Restaurant & Lounge, 2230 N. Martin Luther King Drive. There will also be giveaways, crowd games, awards and other activities to enjoy that night. If performing, you must sign up at the door by 8 p.m. More information here.
2. FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance: Monday, Oct. 13
The Milwaukee County Office of Emergency Management will be available from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13 at the Milwaukee Public Library Center Street Branch, 2727 W. Fond du Lac Ave., to assist homeowners or renters who were affected by the August flooding. You can receive help applying for FEMA or performing a case inquiry if you’ve already applied. 3. Indigenous Peoples Day Community Potluck: Monday, Oct. 13
In honor of Indigenous Peoples Day, the Milwaukee Intertribal Circle, Indian Council of the Elderly and HIR Wellness Institute are partnering to host a community potluck from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13 at 944 N. 33rd St. Enter through Gate #1. 4. Vocal Health Workshop: Tuesday, Oct. 14
Voice users who are in high school and older are invited to a vocal health workshop meant to discuss common struggles, improve basic vocal health, explore vocal exercises and other benefits. The workshop will be led by Sarah Richardson, Alverno College voice instructor, and will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Lampe Recital Hall at Alverno College, 3400 S. 43rd St. Click here to register. 5. Sip & Connect: A Social Gathering for Her Kind of Space: Wednesday, Oct. 15
Her Kind of Space welcomes Black women into an uplifting environment to sip and have meaningful conversations with others from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at HoneyBee Sage Wellness & Apothecary Cafe, 1819 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. More information here.
