1. Amani Housing and Economic Development Meeting: Wednesday, Aug. 5

Amani residents can visit the Dominican Center, 2470 W. Locust St., from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5 for a monthly meeting to connect, learn and take action. More information here.

2. Norwood Neighborhood Game Night: Wednesday, Aug. 5

It’s the monthly neighborhood game night at Sherman Perk Coffee Shop, 4924 W. Roosevelt Drive, on Wednesday, Aug. 5. Hosted by Jamshid Zonoozi and Norwood Neighborhood Group, the evening will bring people together for board games and fun from 6:30 to 9 p.m. More information here.

3. Back to School Bash: Wednesday, Aug. 5

Rooted and Rising – Washington Park is hosting its 6th Annual Back to School celebration at 3940 W. Lisbon Ave., on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. Students can expect free backpacks and school supplies, free haircuts, food and fun. Vaccine records are available via email. More information here.

4. District 5 National Night Out: Thursday, Aug. 6

Milwaukee Police Department District 5 is hosting its annual National Night Out event at James W. Beckum Park, 900 W. Brown St., on Thursday, Aug. 6 from 3 to 7 p.m. Things to do include basketball, a petting zoo, face painting, and free food and prizes. More information here.

5. Community Health Fair: Thursday, Aug. 6
