MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Fall is here—and help is closer than you think! Learn how you can take control of your finances—and much more—before winter blows in!

On Wednesday, October 28, and Thursday, October 29, Community Advocates welcomes community members who want to learn how they can keep up with their bills, maintain good credit, stay warm this winter, find and keep a nice home, and access community resources.

Highlights include:

  • Bank of America Mobile Financial Center workshops and information on banking, budgeting, and credit. Workshop participants receive a free food truck voucher!
  • Community resources on rental housing assistance, energy assistance, and domestic violence services
  • Fast Fund assistance and information for MATC students
  • Trivia, games, giveaways, raffles, and treats!
  • Zen Den to provide good vibes

Everyone is welcome at this free community event and no registration is required.

“Now that daylight is getting shorter and cold weather is on our doorstep, we want to make sure that everyone is ready for the winter months,” said Andi Elliott, CEO of Community Advocates. “That means having a strong foundation for your household with a plan to meet your bills, stay warm and cozy indoors, and be healthy and safe throughout the year. We’re providing some helpful resources, along with activities, games, and treats at this two-day resource fair. Everyone is invited!”

“Bringing our Mobile Financial Center to Milwaukee reflects our commitment to meeting people where they are and making financial guidance and services more accessible,” said Drew Slocum, president, Bank of America Wisconsin. “Through our partnership with Community Advocates, we can connect more residents with the right tools, resources, and support to achieve their financial goals.”

Resource fair sponsors include Community Advocates, Fast Fund, Milwaukee Women’s Center, Milwaukee Rental Housing Resource Center, and RISE Drug Free MKE.
