The city’s License Division (Room 105 at City Hall, 200 E. Wells St.) will open for normal business at 9:30 a.m.(instead of the usual 8:15 a.m.) beginning Monday, November 8th, City Clerk Jim Owczarski said today.

Mr. Owczarski said the change in the division’s normal Monday through Friday opening time will allow staff to better serve the public at this time.

“The License Division is working through some challenges related to staffing and having the later start will provide some much needed time for training and operational progress moving forward,” he said. “We ask those who are regular visitors to Room 105 to please make a note of the (opening time) change.”

The License Division’s closing time will remain 4:30 p.m.

Per usual, applications and payments can also be submitted using the drop box located inside the City Hall rotunda (just outside the License Division, room 105).

Licensees can also still submit an application to the License Division using one of the following options:

  • Placing your application in the drop box located outside room 105 in City Hall
  • Emailing your application to license@milwaukee.gov
  • Mailing your application to:

Office of the City Clerk, License Division
200 E. Wells St., Room 105
Milwaukee, WI 53202

When submitting an application by one of the above means, please be sure to include accurate contact information. As always, License Division staff are available by phone Monday through Friday (during normal business hours) at (414) 286-2238.
