1. Pizza and movie night: Saturday, March 25

Tricklebee Café is hosting a movie night, with the opportunity to build your own vegan pizza with supplies provided. Pizza-building begins at 5 p.m. and a showing of the 1991 film “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze” runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 25 at Tricklebee Café, located at 4424 W. North Ave. Cover is $5 for cost of pizza supplies.

2. Diaper drive and resource fair: Saturday, March 25

Lola’s New Beginnings has organized a diaper drive and resource fair for families with newborns or who are expecting. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 25 at Lola’s New Beginnings, located at 3330 S. 16th St.

3. Celebrate spring with a community painting: Saturday, March 25

La Familia de Arte has organized a way to celebrate spring with your South Side neighbors by painting eggs, butterflies and other Easter and spring iconography. The event takes place from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 25 at Ascension Lutheran Church, located at 1300 S. Layton Blvd. There are costs ranging from $10 to $35 depending on what you want to paint. RSVP needed.

4. Health fair and charity basketball game: Saturday, March 25

To raise awareness of colorectal cancer, Health Connections Inc. and MKE Black Grassroots Network for Health Equity are hosting a basketball game and three-point contest with food vendors, a live DJ and health screenings. The event is free to attend and takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on  Saturday, March 25 at Milwaukee Lutheran High School, located at 9700 W. Grantosa Drive.

5. Women’s HerStory tea social: Sunday, March 26

March is Women’s History Month, and Sherman Phoenix is celebrating with its second annual “Women’s HerStory Ladies Hat and Tea Social.” There will be a tea tasting led by Aureal Ojeda, owner of Outwoken Tea, and an afternoon of fashion, food and music by DJ MixxChelle. The event runs from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 26 at Sherman Phoenix, located at 3536 W. Fond Du Lac Ave. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

BONUS: Deadline to apply for internship in city government: Monday, March 27

The Summer Youth Internship Program is a longstanding summer internship for young people from the ages of 16 to 19 years old to learn about careers in city government. The deadline to apply for the program is 4 p.m. on Monday, March 27.
