1. Tuesday Night Run: Tuesday, July 4
Meet F.E.A.R. (Forget Everything and Run) MKE on Tuesday, July 4 at Mobay Cafe, 1022 S. 1st St. for its weekly Tuesday night run through Walker’s Point beginning at 6 p.m. A waiver form is required. 2. Independence Day Celebrations: Tuesday, July 4
Across the North and South sides, Milwaukee County Parks is celebrating Independence Day on Tuesday, July 4 with festivities, parades, fireworks and more. Each park has different times and activities. More information here.
3. Writing Workshop with Your Move MKE: Wednesday, July 5
“Writing Sesh” is a workshop held by Your Move MKE where people can come to express themselves through any form of writing such as journaling, poetry, music and more. It will be held Wednesday, July 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 1109 W. Historic Mitchell St. More information here.
4. Art in the Park: Thursday, July 6
HeartLove Place, a Christian nonprofit organization, will be offering art in the park every Thursday for children at Peace Park, on the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Ring Street. So, come out Thursday, July 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to get crafty. Free lunch and art supplies will be provided. More information here.
5. Coffee Makes You Black “Financial Friday”: Friday, July 7
Every first Friday of each month, Coffee Makes You Black offers an event called “Financial Friday” for individuals to get valuable resources on financial literacy. Topics include building credit, homebuying and stocks. The floor is open for community members to ask questions. This will be held Friday, July 7 at 2803 N. Teutonia Ave. from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. More information here.
