1. MilWALKee Walks: Monday, May 6

MilWALKee Walks will hold its monthly meeting from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 6 at the Milwaukee Public Library Washington Park Branch, 2121 N. Sherman Blvd. You will hear updates on upcoming events, develop strategies to make Milwaukee safer and more.  More information here.

2. Teen StorySlam: Tuesday, May 7

Ex Fabula will host its “Teen StorySlam: Left No Crumbs” from 6 pm. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7 at 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Teens will share personal stories related to a particular theme while community members listen. Youths also will have a chance to win prizes. 3. Ceramic Class: Tuesday, May 7

Attend a free ceramics class with Master Artist Maria de Los Dolores at Mitchell Street Arts. She will teach you how to use a ceramic wheel. The class will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7 at 710 W. Historic Mitchell St. Click here to register. More information here. 

4. Entrepreneur Office Hours: Tuesday, May 7

The Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corp. will hold office hours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7 at the Sherman Phoenix Marketplace, 3536 W. Fond du Lac Ave. Entrepreneurs and small business owners can receive support through the organization’s programs, business financing and coaching. More information here. 

5. Coffee Connection: Tuesday, May 7

Walker’s Point Association will hold its May “Coffee Connection” from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7 at 158 S. Barclay St. Residents can get free coffee and connect with familiar faces from around the neighborhood. More information here. 

Bonus: Capitol Drive Density- Limited Zone: through Friday, May 17 

Vendors with food peddler vehicles have until Friday, May 17 to apply for the Capitol Drive-Density Limited Zone, which was created by Ald. Lamont Westmoreland. The new zone will ensure cleanliness, traffic safety, better parking and more. It will benefit not only vendors in the 5th District, but drivers who travel on West Capitol Drive, according to Westmoreland. If interested in having a food peddler vehicle in this zone, you will need a permit.  More information here.
