1. Free Diapers & Clothing: Friday, July 12
Muskego Way Forward and the Milwaukee Diaper Mission are collaborating to host a free diaper and clothing distribution from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, July 12 at 1608 W. Forest Home Ave. All clothing sizes will be available for children and adults. To receive free diapers, you must register and live in the Muskego Way neighborhood. Click here to register. 2. Bike+ STEAMfest: Friday, July 12
SE Community Consulting will hold a “Bike+ STEAMfest” from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday, July 12 at Washington Park, 4000 W. Galena St. Children of all ages can participate in science experiments and after completion, they will be eligible to receive a free bike. Click here to register. More information here.
3. Sole Healing Summer Series Poetry Edition: Saturday, July 13
Sole Q.U.E.E.N will be hosting an open mic night for artists to present their writing. Doors open at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 at Mobay Cafe, 1022 S. First St. There will be food and prizes. Click here to purchase $10 tickets. More information here.
4. Frida Fest MKE 2024: Saturday, July 13
The fifth annual Frida Fest will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 and run through Sunday, July 14 at 4507 S. Sixth St. The fest will honor Mexican painter Frida Kahlo and will include live music, food and more. More information here.
5. Rally for Democracy: Sunday, July 14
The Milwaukee Inner-City Congregations Allied for Hope, or MICAH, will hold a rally at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 14 at 2419 E. Kenwood Blvd. Various speakers are expected to discuss why the organization aims to protect democracy. Admission is $5. More information here.
Bonus: Moody Park Cleanup Event: Friday, July 12
Community members are invited to join a collaborative cleanup event from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, July 12 at Moody Park, 2201 W. Auer Ave. The initiative, led by Milwaukee County Supervisor Priscilla Coggs-Jones, aims to beautify the park and promote environmental stewardship.
