1. Near West Side Coffee Social: Monday, Sept. 9 

Near West Side residents and employees can stop by Fruition MKE, 825 N. 27th St., for free coffee and donuts. This is your chance to learn about the resources in the neighborhood and network. This event will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 9. More information here.

2. Movie Viewing and Discussion: Monday, Sept. 9 

WellPoint Care Network will host a private screening of the movie, “Can We Make a Home in Milwaukee?” It will take place from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept.  9 at 8901 W. Capitol Drive. The movie is about immigrants and refugees who’ve settled in Milwaukee to live the American Dream. Refreshments will be served. Registration is required. More information here. 

3. Amani Resident Well-Being Mental Health Mondays: Monday, Sept. 9 

Each Monday of September, Amani residents are welcome to explore mental health topics with doctors and experts. The next session is from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9 at the Dominican Center, 2470 W. Locust St. A meal and refreshments will be served. Click here to register.  More information here. 

4. Snack Hack 2.0: Tuesday, Sept. 10

Adults can gain cooking experience by attending Snack Hack 2.0 from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the Milwaukee Public Library Mitchell Street Branch, 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. You will learn how food is made, make cultural connections and more. More information here. 

5. Ceramics: Slab Work & Sculpting: Thursday, Sept. 12

Mitchell Street Arts invites you to a ceramics class from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 710 W. Historic Mitchell St.  The class is led by artists and co-teachers Shampayne Sifuentes and Betul Dogan. They will teach you how to create slabs and hand sculptures with a clay roller.
