NNS Weekly Wrap-Up

When the Social Development Commission abruptly shut down in 2024, we knew some of our residents would suffer yet another crippling blow.
After all, if the state’s largest anti-poverty agency was failing, who would fill the void?
We also knew that other media outlets would parachute in to report about the controversy and then move on to the next sensational story.
But that’s not how we do things at NNS.
Our team has stayed on this story, with Meredith delivering nuanced, thoughtful and persistent reporting about what’s happening nearly two years later as internal squabbling among the commissioners has further hampered service to the city’s most vulnerable residents.
We do this in service to you as we give Milwaukee the newsroom it deserves.
Proceeding until apprehended,
