Clarke Square and Layton Boulevard West residents looking to trash bulky items have their chance this week as Project Clean and Green moves into the area. The citywide program allows residents to discard, for free, any unwanted furniture, mattresses, household items, brush and up to five tires on their regular garbage pickup day. After Friday, April 22, the city will charge residents in the area a $50 fee for picking up items larger than a cubic yard (about the size of a recliner).
The Clean and Green Project is also providing a limited number of materials for group cleanups. For more information contact Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful (kgmb.org) at 272-5462.
