Two Lindsay Heights projects are among the 22 citywide winners of the 2011 Mayor’s Design Awards, presented by Mayor Tom Barrett.

Alice’s Garden, 2001 W. Garfield Ave., in Johnsons Park, won for its soil remediation, community gardens, gathering places and yoga garden.

Walnut Way House, 2205 N. 16th St., won for the Walnut Way Conservation Corps’ historically sensitive restoration of the vacant, uninhabitable house and for work that promoted neighborhood involvement by residents.

The Mayor’s Design Awards are given annually in recognition of projects and organizations that contribute excellent designs to Milwaukee’s urban landscape.
