The Greater Milwaukee Foundation announced that on March 8, individuals, businesses and others will have a chance to support organizations in the Milwaukee community that are helping meet individual’s basic needs. On Match Day, every donation will be matched. Coordinated by the foundation, Match Day will benefit 19 Milwaukee organizations.
Area funders including the Brewers Community Foundation, The Ceres Foundation, Faye McBeath Foundation and The United Way of Greater Milwaukee have pledged to match $675,000.
“With Match Day, we want to leverage support from the community and increase the capacity of those nonprofits to meet the demand for their services,” said Ellen M. Gilligan, president and CEO of The Greater Milwaukee Foundation.
