Alice’s Garden has one dozen different programs and projects, some offered seasonally, and others year-round. The Farmers Training Project (FTP), for high school age youth and adults, teaches cultural farming education, introduces a variety of sustainable agriculture models, provides a grounding in culinary capital and food culture, and teaches economic development through urban agriculture. Upon completing the orientation and basic training, participants will be guided through one of four training tracts, based on interest and skill.
There is no application fee or direct cost to participants who are accepeted into the project.
ADULT APPLICATION DEADLINE IS WEDNESDAY, APRIL10.
ADULT ORIENTATION IS SATURDAY, APRIL 13.
HIGH SCHOOL AGE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS MONDAY, MAY 6.
Any City of Milwaukee adult resident, high school age through adult, may apply to be a part of the Alice’s Garden Farmers Training Project. If applications and an information sheet are not attached to this email, please contact Venice Williams at venicewb@msn.com.
