As reported in the media, the Social Development Commission (SDC) Board has discussed the potential for appeal of the Head Start decision to exclude SDC from the list of finalists to receive future federal funding.

While future decisions are pending, SDC Head Start funding ends June 30, 2013.  “Priority one for SDC is a smooth transition for Head Start children, families and staff,” affirmed Acting SDC CEO and Board Chair Kristina McHenry.

With the end of the current Head Start award on June 30, 2013, SDC is preparing its staff for the transition.

SDC is proud of the role it played in developing the original Head Start program model over four decades ago and its success in being replicated throughout the country.
