Annie Davis grew up in Mississippi where her mother was a sharecropper. Davis spent two years of early childhood in another home, was forced to work harvesting cotton and only ended up graduating sixth grade at the age of 16, when she became pregnant with her first son. Now, Davis is 18 years sober.
