On a recent afternoon, Martina Patterson and a colleague from Express Yourself Milwaukee, 3331 W. Lisbon Ave., were spray painting tree branches on the sidewalk outside the building. The gold branches with silver tips were part of a collaborative project with ArtWorks for Milwaukee. Members of the community were invited to attach a word to the “luminary tree” expressing how they illuminate the world.
