As part of a nationwide YMCA event, the Northside Y, 1350 W. North Ave., recently held Healthy Kids Day. In addition to a visit by Mayor Tom Barrett, the event featured a variety of fun, educational activities, free backpacks, school supplies and health screenings.
The event aimed to help kids start the new school year prepared with the tools they need to be successful. It also promotes a healthy lifestyle.
