For the past five years Washington Park Partners has focused on its sustainable community plan, which wrapped up this year. The plan involved implementing changes throughout the neighborhood in the areas of arts and culture, education, health and wellness, housing, businesses and jobs, parks and safety.

Approximately 40 people attended WPP’s annual gathering to celebrate the plan’s completion. The event featured a performance by 12 University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee dancers and hot tamale box dinners were served.

Alderman Russell Stamper handed out several dozen awards to residents for maintaining nice lawns, supporting the community and being good neighbors.
