Born in Louisiana, Linda Cooper moved to Wisconsin as a little girl and refers to Milwaukee as “my town.” In 2004 she came across the Wisconsin African American Women’s Center, 3020 W. Vliet St., by chance and fell in love with the building, as well as the community that calls it home.
Cooper owns Midwest Talent Productions and volunteers at WAAWC, assisting with event coordination and marketing. The center hosts a broad range of events for Milwaukee residents regardless of race or gender.
