Volunteer Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee features a calendar full of events for volunteers, both one-time and ongoing. Here are a few of the opportunities in June.

Discovery World Summer Camp – June 12-Aug. 25

Assist youth in Discovery World’s camp activities and curriculum that best fits your interests and expertise, from fashion to engineering; Monday – Friday, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Minimum age: 14

Summer Camp Assistant – June 12-Aug. 11

Help connect children with the natural world at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center day camp. Minimum commitment is five weekday afternoons or mornings.  Minimum age: 13

Bring Learning and Play to Summer – June 19-Aug. 17

Help with academic and outdoor recreational activities for youth for CommonBond Communities at Glenbrook Apartments; Monday-Thursday, 1 – 4 p.m. Minimum age: 16

Baseball Coaches and Umpires – June 22- Aug. 1

COA Youth & Family Centers needs baseball coaches and umpires for practices and games; must have experience and knowledge in baseball.  Minimum age: 18

Satellite Studio Artist Assistant – June 26-Aug. 4

Assist artists with hands-on children’s activities in parks and playgrounds weekday afternoons for Artists Working in Education; weekdays, noon-3 p.m. Minimum age: 14

Camp Umoja – June 27-Aug. 5

Read to youth, chaperone field trips, serve meals, assist kids with garden and more at Unity in Motion’s Camp Umoja; weekday hours. Minimum age: 18

Feed the Kids – June 20-Aug. 24

Make sandwiches any weekday morning to feed hungry children at The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County’s distribution center. Minimum age: 16
