Teenagers looking for fresh air and exercise can register online at Milwaukee Recreation for the Milwaukee Mountain Biking Team. The team meets every Tuesday and Thursday at Riverside Recreation Center, 1615 E. Locust. Practice is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Estabrook Park.
According to Paul Zettel, one of the coaches, 16 young people are currently training for the fall mountain bike races, which take place throughout Wisconsin.
“We provide bikes and helmets for new riders. If they stay with the program in the fall we will outfit them with racing clothing,” said Zettel. The fee is $25 and scholarships are available.
