Through her work with at-risk young people in need and her own experience growing up, Farina Brooks has come to realize that adults tend to judge young people harshly, based on appearances and stereotypes. A mother and grandmother, who also drives a school bus, Brooks said this forces the youth to withdraw and they sometimes express their frustration in negative ways.
