Edurawdo Hawthorne is looking forward to becoming a firefighter in the Milwaukee Fire Department. The 25-year-old has applied for the position, passed a written exam and recently sat for an oral interview. He said he wants to give back to the community by rescuing people when they need help. Hawthorne added that he is heartened by improvements in the central city, including new housing and economic development.
