Nekea Leon, a senior at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is getting her degree in dance and chemistry. She lived in Sherman Park until she was 5 years old and remembers going to the park with her grandmother. Leon said she likes living in Milwaukee because she can walk everywhere and it is a close-knit community where people help each other advance.

Leon recently participated in a performance at Milwaukee City Hall, using dance to portray the stories of people who live in Sherman Park and Washington Park.
