WPCA celebrates Día de Los Muertos with exhibition

Between now and Nov. 17, the Walker’s Point Center for the Arts, 839 S. 5th St., will be featuring the 26th annual Dia de los Muertos exhibition, the longest-running commemoration of the Day of the Dead in Milwaukee.

The opening reception was held on Friday, Oct. 19.

Dia de los Muertos celebrates live, rich indigenous traditions and Mexican culture. The exhibition includes altares (alters) created by community groups and WPCA members.

The exhibit includes community altares constructed by:



  • Milwaukee School of Language
  • Panadería Flor De Trigo
  • Dominique Alvarado
  • Familia Luévano
  • Soy Quien Soy Studio
  • WPCA’s Afterschool Art class Youth participants
  • Día de los Muertos Festival

  • Ceci Tejeda with her Alebrijes workshop participants
