North Shore Bank today announced that it is seeking entries for “Make Change Happen,” a 95th anniversary video contest to help support school initiatives in the local communities that the bank serves. Winning organizations will receive $1,923, matching the year the bank first opened its doors.
The contest will support four projects – one each for the bank’s north, south and central regions, and one specifically for Milwaukee Public Schools. Video entries will be accepted now through Friday, Nov. 2. Entrants can be school, classroom, academic, arts, athletics, technology and club initiatives that will have a positive impact on public or private school students from 4k to 12th grade.
Video entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges and contest finalists will be announced the week of Nov. 5. Then through Friday, Nov. 9, the public will have the opportunity to go online to vote for the organization they best think embodies “Make Change Happen.” Winners will be announced the week of Nov. 12. “North Shore Bank was founded by a group of teachers in Shorewood, Wisconsin, and as we honor our 95th anniversary, we wanted to continue to support projects that support education and benefit children in our local communities,” said Susan T. Doyle, North Shore Bank’s senior vice president of retail banking. “As a community-minded bank, we have a long relationship and history with schools, and we recognize the need to back efforts that benefit students and that encourage lasting life skills for success. I could not think of a better way to celebrate 95 years.”
To enter, a video must be submitted that is no longer than two minutes in length. It needs to explain why the project deserves $1,923 to benefit children and how the funds will be spent. Video entries will be considered for their creativity, enthusiasm, and passion in petitioning for the donated funds, as well as, the need and degree of merit it possesses for supporting local students.
