Ben Henderson, a 23-year resident of the Capitol West neighborhood near 66th and Congress on the northwest side, has been active in his neighborhood association and with his bike club. Recently, he participated in a political protest for the first time.
Braving the cold, Henderson went downtown to Pere Marquette Park to protest President Trump’s replacement of Attorney General Jeff Sessions with Matthew Whitaker, a critic of the investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
The demonstration, under the banner “Nobody is above the law” and organized by the activist group MoveOn, was part of a nationwide effort to protect the Mueller investigation.
Henderson carried a handmade sign: Hate Will Not Make Us Great.
