The Milwaukee Excellence Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Milwaukee Excellence is the highest rated school in the City of Milwaukee according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Milwaukee Excellence scored 94.3 out of a possible 100 points, earning the school a five-star rating also known as “significantly exceeds expectations” on its state report card released on November 13.
“We are thrilled to have achieved these results after only two years of operation,” said Maurice Thomas, founder, Milwaukee Excellence Charter School. “Our students, parents, and teachers should all be proud of this accomplishment.”
Milwaukee Excellence students take 120 minutes of math and reading each day in order to close enormous learning gaps identified when students enter the school. Additionally, more than 100 students participate in afterschool tutoring each day. All students take coding and computer science class through a generous gift from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation.
