NNS reporter Allison Dikanovic recently appeared on WGLB 1560AM’s Morning Mix, which airs Mondays and Fridays at 8 a.m., joining hosts Dennis Walton and Saryea Murchison. Dikanovic discussed her latest story, on the Milwaukee Public Schools crisis response team, and specifically about the team’s role at Keefe Avenue School after 13-year-old Sandra Parks was killed.

They discussed the way that trauma can affect students’ ability to learn and stay focused in school, and what MPS does to support its students and teachers when tragedy strikes. Walton lives near Keefe, and he shared some of his insights from working regularly with kids in that neighborhood.
