With a fresh layer of snow dusting the ground, Terrance Davis said that it’s a great time of year for snowshoeing or cross-country skiing in Washington Park. He has been the visitor services specialist at the Urban Ecology Center, which is located in the park, for the last six years.

Davis lived in the neighborhood when he was younger and said that he has enjoyed coming back to serve the community he grew up in. One of his favorite events is the Winterfest celebration where people are invited for free food and activities. The annual event takes place on Jan. 26 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
