About 225 students were honored May 22, 2019, for earning General Educational Development, or GED, certificates, High School Equivalency diplomas and Emerging Scholars diplomas during a special ceremony at Milwaukee Area Technical College’s downtown campus.
The ceremony recognized students graduating from Milwaukee Area Technical College and 24 community-based educational partners. Speakers included Kyle Hayden, MATC student services specialist and 2019 MATC adviser of the year; Vicki J. Martin, MATC president; Mohammad Dakwar, MATC provost; Regina O. Smith, MATC dean of the School of Pre-College Education; and Jacklyn Isabell, a graduate representing Literacy Services of Wisconsin.
