Hello, I am Claudia Delgadillo, one of Milwaukee Neighborhood New Service’s newest staff reporters. I am a Milwaukee native, proud product of Milwaukee Public Schools and an alumna of UW-Milwaukee, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in journalism and Spanish. I am always looking for the stories that aren’t being told to shine a spotlight on.
I dedicated my studies to journalism because there are so many incredible and inspiring stories that mainstream media oftentimes overlook or undercover. I believe that in a community, every person’s voice deserves to be heard so we may all understand each other. And in such a diverse city like Milwaukee, there are many different voices and stories we still need to hear. It is important for everyone to know their neighbors and the incredible things that are happening in their community.
As an arts and culture reporter, I will work to celebrate our diverse communities with the hopes that we may all accept each other for our differences. I am excited to learn more about your communities and the ways you are making our Milwaukee more beautiful. If you would like to share your story, please email me at delgadclaudia@milwaukeenns.org.
Milwaukee will always be my home, and my community is my family. I love my city, and we deserve much more credit than we receive. Yes, there are many things we must work on as a whole, but it’s the people who make Milwaukee shine even brighter. I hope that you will allow me to share your stories so we may all grow together to understand each other.
