The women of the Gamma Pi Sigma Alumnae of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. will host it’s annual Black History Quiz Bowl on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Woodlands School located at 3121 West State Street. The competition starts at 11am and runs through 1pm. This event is FREE and open to the public.
Our theme this year is Young, Gifted & Black and focuses on the many talents and accomplishments of African American men and women in the United States. The Black Quiz Bowl has been traditionally held in an effort to foster a community approach to learning black history – filling the gap of sharing important facts that children can be proud of. The chapter is excited to host 5 teams of young people who are studying black history and will showcase the power of their knowledge in the Jeopardy style contest. The team of students scoring the highest will earn medals of honor to award their achievement. However, the event is focused on celebrating black history, black culture and the importance of academic excellence.
Do you have feedback on Milwaukee NNS's reporting? Take our survey to let us know how we're doing!
I'll take the survey!“We believe that young people are our future and we hope to create opportunities to develop and strengthen their legacy”, says the chapter President – Bridget Robinson.
