Alverno College will host its annual Community Conference on Friday, February 28, which will focus on exploring women’s empowerment from the suffrage era to today’s #MeToo movement. Tiffany Henry, president of the Milwaukee Urban League Young Professionals and Milwaukee Office Director for U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin, will serve as the keynote speaker for the event, which is open to the public.
The annual day of learning, which provides an opportunity for the extended Alverno community to share research, new initiatives and best practices, includes workshops, discussions and creative activities. More than a dozen breakout sessions will be offered on a variety of topics, including self-care, using language to find empowerment, self-advocacy, how to shed disempowering beliefs, and more. The event will begin with Henry’s keynote address.
