Philanthropic partners in Milwaukee have launched a coordinated response to aid the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This effort includes the MKE Responds Fund, a fund managed by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation and supported by a coalition of funders and collaborators. MKE Responds provides resources to organizations working in the greater Milwaukee area with communities disproportionately impacted by coronavirus and its economic consequences.

Here’s how some of the funds have been distributed:

Advocates of Ozaukee – shelter services, $15,000

Hunger Task Force – food distribution, $15,000

Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin – food distribution, $15,000

Food Pantry of Waukesha County – food distribution, $15,000

Imagine MKE – artist relief fund, $25,000

Tandem – free meals for neighbors, $5,000

United Way of Northern Ozaukee County – community relief fund for food, housing and behavioral health services, $25,000

Capuchin Community Services – meal site services, $11,200

Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers – Behavioral health treatment via telehealth services, $35,150
