It’s Friday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about as the nation grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic.

- Kujichagulia Black Friday: Friday, Nov. 27
Kujichagulia Producers Cooperative, 3536 W. Fond du Lac Ave., is having a Black Friday sale. The sale began at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26 and will end at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27. There will be a drawing for a $50 store gift certificate. Kujichagulia Producers Cooperative is a collaborative effort between local entrepreneurs, and opened a week ago. - Volunteer at The Gathering: Saturday, Nov. 28
The Gathering and Our Next Generation Kids are looking for volunteers to help serve lunch to those in need. Volunteers will meet at Our Next Generation Kids, 3421 W. Lisbon Ave., from 9:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28. Please RSVP if you plan on going. The Gathering is a local nonprofit dedicated to feeding the hungry. - Elf: Step-by-step painting class: Saturday, Nov. 28
The Farmhouse Paint Bar & Banquet Hall, 4511 S. 6th St., is doing a step-by-step painting class where participants will paint a festive holiday elf. The in-person class is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28. The class will also be offered virtually, and participants will be sent a pre-recorded class. To purchase an in-person or virtual class ticket and supplies, click here. - Blood drive at Silver Spring Neighborhood Center: Saturday, Nov. 28
The Silver Spring Neighborhood Center, 5460 N. 64th St., is hosting a blood drive. The drive is a part of Common Council President Cavalier Johnson’s “40 for Life” birthday celebration and the Sickle Cell-Abration, an effort to raise awareness of sickle cell disease. The drive will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28. To schedule a donation, click here. The blood will be donated to local patients. - Washington Heights shop small pop-up: Sunday, Nov. 29
Local artists are hosting a pop-up on North 52nd Street between West Washington Boulevard and West Vine streets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29. The “pop-up” shops will be located in the front yards of homes located on that street. This is an opportunity to meet and support local businesses. There will be artists, makers, bakers and more.
