“NNS continuously highlights the good in Milwaukee,” says photographer Sue Vliet, “and I am honored to be a part of it.” (Photo provided by Sue Vliet)
Name: Sue Vliet
What I do: Photographer and chief cheerleader and baker for the NNS team
How long I’ve worked here: March 2010, just prior to launch.
Why I love NNS: NNS has strengthened my appreciation for our city and provided innumerable opportunities to connect with and learn from individuals and organizations, Covering the pandemic and election were a testament to the tenacity of our team and has served as an excellent reminder of the camaraderie and resilience our community continues to exhibit, both in the newsroom and throughout the city.
What are you most proud of? While I am proud of everything NNS has done, I am very proud of the “couch project” that we did in 2019 in Silver City and at Mitchell and Washington Parks, along with the graduation photos we did this spring for graduates of all ages who didn’t get the usual pomp and circumstance. NNS continuously highlights the good in Milwaukee, and I am honored to be a part of it.
How to help
