Name: Caroline White

What I do at NNS: I’m a news intern!

How long I’ve worked here: On and off for about a year and a half.

Why I love NNS: If I could describe NNS in a word, it’d be “genuine.” The folks I’ve met while working at NNS are so passionate about the work they do. NNS truly values authentic collaboration and connection to the city and its residents. I feel so lucky to work with the amazing reporters at NNS and meet the dedicated Milwaukeeans who fight hard for their neighbors every day.

What are you most proud of?

One of my most memorable stories at NNS is New app aims to showcase Milwaukee’s black entrepreneurs and creatives about the MKE Black app. I had the privilege of interviewing Paul Wellington and Rick Banks who co-founded the app and website in an effort to support local Black business owners. I was so inspired by their deep love and appreciation for the city and their communities, and I remember those interviews often.

How to help
