It was a day of love and history at Milwaukee Excellence Charter School, 4950 N. 24th St.
Students were brought back to the campus Thursday to celebrate both Valentine’s Day and Black History Month in the school’s parking lot.
The event featured Valentine’s Day decorations and, to celebrate Black history, cutouts of Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama.
Students and their families received a small gift bag with candy and other items from teachers and staff as they drove through the school’s parking lot.
Milwaukee Excellence, which has more than 500 students enrolled in grades six through 10, has been conducting classes virtually since the start of the school year.
