When the students at Marquette University returned to campus late January, the team at Marquette Dining Services had been hard at work finding local restaurant and retail partners to feature for the campus Eat Local program.

Eat Local was launched in February through partnerships with The Soup Market, Triciclo Peru and Heaven’s Table BBQ who’s products and services were featured each Thursday of the week.  What was different from previous partnerships with Marquette Dining Services was that these restaurants were featured as part of the student dining meal program which is open to all Marquette students living on campus and any students, faculty and staff who take part in the meal program.

Since the launch of the Eat Local program the Marquette Dining Team has received a windfall of interested local restaurants and retail vendors that they are trying to fit into their dining program schedule.  Coming up in the very near future they will be featured Pete’s Pops, Funky Fresh Spring Rolls, LivALittle Vegan Ice Cream, MJD Apiary Bee Farm and KalYana Organics, all locally owned and operated businesses in Milwaukee.
