It’s Monday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know as you plan your week. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please email info@milwaukeenns.org and put “5 things” in the subject line by noon Thursday.

1. “Metcalfe Park Painted + Resources Part 3”: Monday, Aug. 9

Metcalfe Park Community Bridges and its partners Artists Working in Education and Health Connections are inviting the community to help paint a street mural. There will also be barbeque, music, a mobile food pantry, the COVID-19 vaccine and more. The event will take place at 3401 W. Center St., from noon to 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 9.

2. North Side pop-up farmers market: Tuesday, Aug. 10

The Northwest Side Community Development Corporation is hosting its second annual North Side Pop-Up Farmers Market. The market will take place every Tuesday in August at various locations. This week, the market will be at 2400 W. Villard Ave. from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10. The markets accept cash and SNAP/EBT.

3. Melvina Park “Art in the Park”: Wednesday, Aug. 11

The Century City Tri-Angle Neighborhood Association invites residents to “Art in the Park.” The association will be creating two peace towers for Melvina Park and want residents to help. “Art in the Park” will take place from 10 a.m. to noon for seniors and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for youth on Wednesday, Aug. 11. Snacks will be provided. For more information on the Melvina Park expansion, click here.

4. Bronzeville Week: Stories from Bronzeville: Thursday, Aug. 12
