Foley & Lardner LLP’s Milwaukee office collected more than 700 articles of winter clothing, including coats, hats, scarfs along with mittens and gloves, for distribution to kids at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee throughout the city.

Volunteers from the law firm recently distributed some of the winter clothing to kids at the Daniels-Mardak Club, 4858 N. 35th Street in Milwaukee.

Megan Wiza and Kris Szatmary, of Foley, organized and led the winter clothing drive, which is part of the law firm’s national partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of America, and builds on work that Foley and the Boys & Girls Clubs have been doing regionally together for the last few years.

On hand from Foley to help distribute the winter clothing at the Daniels-Mardak Club were attorneys Clyde Tinnen (partner), Nick Welle (partner) and Tim Patterson (associate). Kris Szatmary (project manager) also helped distribute the clothing.
Earlier this fall, volunteers at Foley filled 350 backpacks with school supplies for local students aged Pre-K through 5th grade and distributed them through local Boys & Girl Club locations in Milwaukee.

The partnership between Foley and the Boys & Girls Club is designed to advance the youth development organization’s diversity, equity and inclusion initiative, which offers inclusive and culturally relevant programs and resources that help nurture and elevate youth voices. The initiative includes a focus on racial equity as an imperative effort to reach its overall vision.

In addition to the direct work with children, Foley also engages in pro bono work for Boys & Girls Clubs of America on legal matters, including human resources and employment, real estate and corporate non-profit issues that will allow local clubs to offer more programs to a broader range of children.
