It’s a new year and with it, comes a new tax season. While filing taxes can seem overwhelming, it doesn’t have to be thanks to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program or VITA, which helps low-income individuals file their state and federal tax returns for free.

Various local organizations offer the VITA program and individuals can sign up for an appointment to receive help.

This year’s tax deadline is Monday, April 18. Click here to see what documents you should bring to your VITA appointment and look below to see the list of organizations that offer the VITA program.

Did we miss a program that offers free tax services? Post it in the comments below or send an email with the subject line ‘Free Tax Services’ to amartinez-ortiz@milwaukeenns.org.
