Thursday is 414 Day, an unofficial holiday celebrating all the things that make Milwaukee unique. There are events happening all over the city, but here’s what is happening in our neighborhoods.

Did we miss an event? Email samwoods@milwaukeenns.org and ronald.smith@marquette.edu and put “414 Day” in the email subject line so we can update our list.

1. 414 Day South Side Celebration

Join Keepnitmil and Blest at Ms. Yesenia’s Creative Studio for a networking event with music, merchandise and drinks from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 14 at 2926 W. Forest Home Ave.

2. 414 Day Paint Party

Spend the day painting the skyline and the Milwaukee flag on a pre-sketched canvas at Vibez Creative Studio from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14. Vibez is located on the second floor of the Southridge Mall at 5300 S. 76th St. in Greendale. RSVP for $35 is required and includes a pre-sketched canvas by Canned Beatz.

3. MKE 414 Day Music Festival

A celebration of Milwaukee would not be complete without a celebration of Milwaukee’s artists. MKExpanded hosts this four-day festival full of local music, food, dancing and more. The event takes place all over the city from Thursday, April 14 to Sunday, April 17. Register to volunteer or perform here. More information here.

4. Milwaukee Day Spring Cleanup at Butterfly Park

Celebrate Milwaukee with spring cleaning at Butterfly Park at the intersection of West Forest Home Avenue and South 13th Street. The cleanup is hosted by Muskego Way Forward and Versiti and will take place from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 14. More information here.

5. Avenues West Community Cleanup

Join the Near West Side Partners and Milwaukee High School of the Arts in beautifying the Avenues West neighborhood. The cleanup runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 14, beginning at 1255 N. 22nd St.
